The story of Ambrovit begins with two entrepreneurs and a rather clear idea: to build a distribution model capable of uniting quality, speed and customer service in one sector – that of small metal parts and fastening systems – still very tied to long timescales and rigid distribution models. A simple yet ambitious promise, a practical and concrete approach, which chooses to invest immediately in what really makes the difference: smart logistics. That’s because distributing a good product is important, but getting it there on time, in the right place, and in the most efficient way possible is equally important.

The origins of a constantly evolving logistics project

The first years were full of challenges and strategic choices: the acquisition of a factory in Garlasco, the renovation of the offices and, above all, the decision to make the warehouse not just a place to store products, but the beating heart of the business. The first factory in Garlasco is a space that is not simply filled with shelves, but transformed into a real advanced logistics hub where the goal of every structural decision is to accelerate order fulfilment and ensure precision in service.
This led to the creation of increasingly advanced structures, designed to guarantee efficiency and speed of service, up to the large automated warehouses that today represent Ambrovit.
Automation soon became part of the company philosophy; software for automated picking, high-speed packaging systems, and intelligent systems for managing incoming and outgoing goods: each innovation is designed to reduce waiting times to a minimum.

The constellation of efficiency

The turning point came in 2009, with the construction of the first self-supporting warehouse, ORION. The system consists of an impressive 28-metre-high vertical warehouse, capable of storing 22,000 pallets and outfitted with the latest logistics innovations. Adjoining it are a dedicated packaging zone, modern executive offices, and a welcoming showroom for customers and partners that embodies the company’s spirit and values. The name ORION reflects the constellation that is visible in every part of the world, a symbol of stability and orientation. Just like the warehouse itself, it is a point of reference and guide for all Ambrovit logistics. Since 2015, growth has been constant. The warehouse has increased its storage capacity to 44,000 pallet spaces and is now equipped with new technologies such as Miniload, a facility for very high-rotation goods, and Buffer for the temporary management of incoming goods, further improving logistics efficiency. Ambrovit’s growth is also due to a constant decision to expand the range to include products such as washers, nuts, blind rivets, and self-drilling screws, designed for the most demanding sectors, from construction to DIY. The warehouse has become increasingly efficient and is now able to handle over 5,000 picking lines per day and dispatch more than 2,500 tonnes per month within 24/48 hours.

The next step

The most recent result of this philosophy is PROXIMA, the new automated warehouse that doubles storage capacity and optimises logistics management.
Here too, the name is full of meaning: PROXIMA is the closest red dwarf star to our solar system, a symbol of proximity, of physical closeness to the twin warehouse, but also of potential and discovery.
Connected to the historic ORION by a 26-metre bridge, it guarantees faster and more integrated flows.
With its height of 28 metres and 650 photovoltaic panels, PROXIMA embodies the most technological and sustainable soul of Ambrovit, demonstrating that performance and respect for the environment can coexist.
Attention to the environment is not a superficial choice, but an integral part of the industrial project. Every stage of the supply chain is powered by solar energy generated on-site, reducing environmental impact without slowing down the pace of a constantly moving company.
Today the historic warehouse ORION is used for handling incoming goods, while PROXIMA is the the operational hub for all dispatch activities.

A renewed identity with a vision for the future

But that’s not all. With GoEasy!, Ambrovit has chosen to expand into the retail business, simplifying the purchasing experience with modular displays and over 700 products available in different formats. This selection comprises over thirty products, including screws, bolts, metric screws, self-drilling and self-tapping screws – ideal for use on a variety of surfaces such as wood, plasterboard, and chipboard panels. A new direct channel that makes the relationship with the end customer even more immediate.
This journey of renewal was also marked by a rebranding: a more minimalist logo, an updated payoff, and a new visual image in which the two main warehouses, ORION and PROXIMA, stand out. Both names, inspired by astronomy and mythology, symbolise the company’s forward-looking vision and its ability to stay firmly rooted while embracing the future.
Today, Ambrovit is a leading company in the sector of small parts and fastening systems, with a logistics network of almost 100,000 pallet spaces and an increasingly solid presence throughout Europe.

A story made of concrete choices, technology and people. And judging by the upcoming projects, the best is yet to come
